Tailgating by  Charlie

Football Tailgating
What's football without tailgating?  Heck, that's the only reason they play the game anyway, right?  And the truth is that lots of tailgaters don't ever bother to go into the stadium.  There's just too much fun out in the parking lot or on the grass.

Tailgating is played in two halves: pregame and after the game.  Pregame tailgating can start the day before and can run on into the day after.  As long as there is plenty of food and the coolers don't get empty.  Football is just another way for friends to gather for good food, mild to stong drink, and great fun.  The game is just an excuse to party.
Tailgating Tips:
1. Plan to arrive 3 - 4 hours before game time.  Better yet - the day before.
2. Find a good parking spot.
3. Plan your menu several days before the game.
4. Decorate your site with school pennants, banners, balloons.
5. Meet your tailgating neighbors.
6. Dress in your school's colors
7. Always leave your area clean when you leave.

And don't forget:

The Most In-demand and Essential Tailgating Supplies - Have a Great Party
By Nicola Kennedy

For decades, tailgating has become bigger and better, as people spend more time and money on new and innovative tailgating supplies with each passing season. A lot has changed in the world of tailgating. Many people spend over $700 a year on food and supplies for up to 10 parties a season. Some fans take it to the extreme. It is important though to make sure your parties are about having fun.

Always be prepared. Make a list of the items you will need for set up, cooking, serving, and clean-up. Check off each as you pack. Remember to bring plates, napkins, towels, cups, utensils, first aid kit, trash bags, water, food storage containers, and damp towels to clean hands and face.

To be able to have a nice party, you need to have good supplies.

You might want to consider some of the following supplies that can be helpful in an enjoyable party:

Bar-B-Gater- this is an ultimate barbecue pit. You can use this with almost all vehicles. All you need is a 2” receiver hitch that is common on most SUV’s, trucks and vans. The best thing about this is that, you can hook it up to your vehicle or unhook it from the vehicle when you are home again.

Freedom grill- An easy-to-use grill, it connects to any 2” receiver ball on your SUV, van or truck. You can “get your grill on” with this unique useful setup

Tepee Portable Restroom/Shower- this provides a common solution to restroom and shower facilities. A portable restroom, and this can be packed easily.

Pyrex portables food carrier set- this is where you can keep your cooked foods without any worries.

Keep it simple. Plan your menu or the things you need in advance by doing the prep work a day or two prior to the game or choose easy-to-tackle products that combine convenience with homemade taste. Be sure to give everyone ample time to eat, socialize, and clean up.

Having all these supplies ready for your party and definitely you will be having a great time. This is a one of a kind experience that you will definitely never forget.

And remember, the early bird gets the ... bigger space!

Tailgating Grills

If you are planning a tailgate party you need a few things, good people, good drinks, and a good grill. There are a few things that you need to consider before choosing a grill for your next tailgate party.

Camp Stoves:
Camp Stoves are a great addition to Tailgaters due to its ability to do many different things. First off Camp Stoves are not grills. It is just a way to have an open flame that is regulated and controlled. Camp Stoves are not meant to grill burgers and hotdogs by themselves. There are some accessories that must be bought before this can happen. Camp Stoves are meant to be used at if it were an outdoor kitchen stove. You can use pots and pans, skittles, dutch ovens, or anything else that you usually use on a regular stove. Of course you can purchase grill attachments for direct grilling. Camp Stoves can make a simple hamburger and hotdog tailgate into a gourmet tailgate with stews, chili, boiled shrimp, or lobster (yes lobster check out Gillette stadium tailgaters), and anything else you can cook up, imagine, and feast upon.

Table Top Grills:
Tabletop grills are great for a quick set up with a picnic table, setting on the ground, or tailgate. These are small and portable which makes them very diverse and useable. Some are designed more for grilling, some more for using with pots and pans. Either way these are great for setting up quickly, getting the food cooked, cooling off quickly and stowing, so that you can get into your event quickly. They are also for those who are looking for the least amount of cleanup, and work to be done.

Portable Grills:
Portable grills are for the serious tailgater. Portable grills offer a wide range of uses, from skillet cooking to grilling burgers, and hot dogs, to dutch oven use; to anything that can be fried, cooked, grilled, and ate. Portable grills are easy to set up, and easy to take down. Pull the grill out of the trunk or back of the truck, set up quickly, get your food, and get going. Have fun, eat well, and be happy.

Backpack Grills:
Backpack grills are our most highly portable grills we have found. Most are simply single burner stoves meant to head up a pot, pan or skillet. These are great little grills for a quick small tailgate party, or to just pull over on the side of the road on a long trip and have an impromptu tailgate lunch party. You never know when a tailgating mood will hit, and these ultra portable grills will let you tailgate in any spot.

So what we have found is that you have to first decide what kind of party you are going to have. Then you will be able to quickly and easily decide what kind of grill is best for you.
